2 more days to go

I'm actually doing some 'touch up' for my coursework now and the brain got jammed halfway. So I'm here updating blog instead. haha Autumn semester has basically almost over.. I'm saying almost over cause I still have another dispensing class tomorrow afternoon =( and other people might enjoying their holidays already! Well, the point is.. House 28 is going to London this weekend!!! hahaha I've always heard bout London eversince i was young... but never ever thought that one day I'll get the chance to explore it myself! We'll be departing on Saturday morning and staying over at a youth hostel for 3 nights. Hopefully the weather is on our side and everything will be fine. =)

On a side note, Dear and I made it to Birmingham last weekend and we SUPER LIKE it there! haha <3 the environment and the food. And Birmingham citizen are sooooo 'hang fuk' lo. They got markets selling fresh fruits, meats and seafoods! Damn nice la.. unlike Nottingham. Now Nottingham really becoming more kampung in our heart d. Sweat la. The plan to Birmingham was actually a really last minute decision cause we were suppose to be in Lincoln but who knows the Christmas Market there got cancelled!! Apparently the city council decided to cancel it off due to the heavy snow in Lincoln and its not really safe to have such a big event this year. I'm sooo disappointed cause Lincoln was said to have the best Christmas Market but the last minute detour to Birmingham compensate the loss wells. haha

It was really foggy that morning and the view from the train proves it! I've quickly packed a small muffin as our snack on board and altho I've said this many times...Sainsbury muffin taste damn nice lo! We reached Birmingham and it started to have light shower. *gosh* Luckily Dear remind me to bring an umbrella. But umbrella doesn't help much cause it was really really cold and wet!

We were supposed to have our lunch first but since we're walking away from Chinatown and towards the Market instead, we decided give the market a tour first. hehe And to prevent our tummy from 'suffering' we got ourselves some German sausages. hehe

Altho it might look simple, but it definitely taste good! The sausage skin was actually crunchy the moment you bite into it and the topping of pickles and crispy fried shallots really make a perfect combination!! Not to forget the mustard and the ketchup sauce as well. *winks*

Lots of things to be explore in the market and it's really worth spending time there. The only this which is I dislike is the rainy weather. It makes me shiver and my fingers are literally frozen. So after a while, when the cold has really reached our limit, we finally gave up and search for our lunch stop = Malaysian Delight. It was really obvious, just across the main road when you're coming from the Indoor Market.

I would definitely recommend this place to anyone out there who misses Malaysian food. We ordered char kueh tiaw and my favourite vinegar trotter!!! I have always wanted to eat that so badly and I get to have it here! Sooo happy! =) Dear was like flipping through the menu and deciding to order another dish. I guess he must have forgotten about his porky so I asked him why he didn't order that. hahaha and his reaction  was like.. omg.. i totally forgot.. which page in the menu it is? ==''

We went to the chinese supermarket next door and they sell like all sort of chinese ingredients that you would wish for! How i wish i'm staying in Birmingham instead. haha Oh ya, the bitter gourds in UK are either small, little ones or damn damn damn expensive!! almost 8 pound for 1kg? that's like RM40 where I can get like RM4-5 back at home. aiyoyo.

After that we went shopping at Bull Ring Mall and went back to the Christmas market again. To get some souvenirs. We glad that we left Birmingham early cause there were like sooo many people at the train station and I would not want to risk having my train delay and stranded at the train station for a night. Cause that's what I've read from the news k.. not that I'm panaroid. haha But Birmingham.. I'll definitely visit you again cause there's more to be explore.. most probably after exam la. haha

Mr Snowman

I woke up around 8.30 this morning.. looked out the window... wheeeee!!! perfect condition for making our first snowman!! hahah freshen up, wore thicker coats and gloves and off we go to our backyard for our first snowman!! haha

It has been snowing for a few days now and the amount of snow layering our backyard is just in the right amount to make a little snowman. haha It's pretty cold out there and our fingers start to feel numb but that doesnt stop us from completing our MISSION!!! So, as the end results... here's our SNOWMAN!

SNOW!!!

I woke up this morning and guess what i saw!!!! *well, actually is dear saw it first.. but who cares! XP*

It snowed!!! OMG! First time in my life i see snows.. damn sakai wei.. but nvm bout that. hahaha some of my friends even wake up 3 in the morning just to see it snowing. hahhaha I'll have another few more pretty polaroids shot added to my collection soon!!! wheee <3

A twist of York

I'm sooooo tired after my first visit this sem. I was allocated to a Family Medical Center and I must say, I've learned a lot from there. I've finally understood how the whole health care system works here in the UK. And not being able to focus on my revision now, cause my brain was deep fried the whole day, blogging would be a better idea. hehehe

York is on further North from our place and i should have blogged bout this like few weeks ago, but i don't even bother on doing so. =p We followed tour groups organized by the city council themselves cause it's reasonable and easier. So we went to the famous York Minster and indeed it's really beautiful inside out. We're really glad that the weather is on our side. Perfect day for taking photos.

I noticed this old man sitting just across the street from the Minster and he was playing some odd musical instrument. But it was really nice hearing the melody. Of course the red jacket that he's wearing make him stands out in the whole picture.

We did some research and found out that York has the largest railway museum in the whole world!!! and I couldn't have agreed more. It was worth spending some time there although we didn't really manage to finish visiting the whole museum. Blame the limited time we have! XD

Well, guess what! The train which they use to filmed Harry Potter the movie was also being displayed in the museum!!! Of course, there's many many more type of trains that you can see there. From the older centuries to the latest high tech built bullet trains. You can even get to see the servicing process in the museum itself.

So after the railway museum, we explored the city and took some random photos. Apparently, the Food and Drink Festival was going on and we get to feast our eyes and smell buds with lots and lots of different foods which are sold!

As we have failed to resist the temptations, dear and I got ourselves a giant cupcake from one of the stores. And it taste sooooooo goood!!!!! But seriously, i don't recommend to have this type of indulgence too often; as you may eventually got yourself a DM sooner or later. LOL So that's roughly bout York. Oxford trip would be the next one coming up.

 I need to finish up my Chemical Modeling report now. So till next time. Cheers~ <3

Poison or Remedy

I remembered clearly this quote from my lecture this morning. It says;

''Every substance in this world is POISON. It is the RIGHT dosage which differentiate poisons from remedies''

which i personally think is sooooo true!! Getting the right dosage to our patients is really a big big responsibilities for us and one small error, could turn the whole remedy into a poison. Ah... it's so inspiring. Anyway, I'm just dropping for some short update again. My oven roast potatoes are gonna be due soon and we're having ribs tonight. ehehehhe So ta-ta! 

It's 8 Degree tonight

My room is freeeezing even with the heater on. Can you imagine that. I'm wearing 3 layers of clothes and still it's insufficient. Omg, how am i gonna survive winter. I'm having my first exam tomorrow, and hopefully I've got what it needs for me to get through. Bbrrrrrrr... I think I'm going to have a hot shower now before dinner. Eeeee-yore

EEEE-YORE! Guess who's Muffin new companion???? A giant eeee-yore we won from Goose Fair! hahahaha well, technically is dear won, but prize is mine! LOL I'll definitely visit Goose Fair again next year cause is X100 times or maybe x10000000 times better than our fun fair in Malaysia. There were so many rides and games and not to forget food stalls too!!

Merry go round.. one of the less 'thrilling' rides. hahahah And it's really pwwweeetttyy. <3 Spend about 2 hours plus there and reach home bout 11pm. We've never ever went out till so late here in the UK and usually we'll be asleep by that time already. haha

So it's Saturday again, and I've just baked a lagsana for Dear. Cause he's being so sweet to win an eeyore for me *p/s altho i keep eyeing the me-to-you teddy* LOL Anyway, lasagna was a bit water-ish at first... but after it started to set it looked just nice. hehe I've bought some oriental ingredients so that we can have more of chinese meal here and eventually reduce our home-food-sickness. hehe I think i'm just going to stop here, need to spend some time to upload photos into fb. =p

Workshops

It feels so nice to take a hot shower here as compare to Malaysia. haha And i deeply regretted for not buying more of those yoga pants!!! *arghhh* they are sooooo comfy!! I only bought 1 when i last visit Cheras Night market. *sigh*

The law book which i bought just few days ago through Amazon was here yesterday!! Efficient betul! Classes starts from 11 and finished at 5 today. Our brains are officially saturated from all the information and instructions from our placement workshops. I have always thought Thurs is a very 'FREE' day as we only have professional skills lessons but turns out it's not for the first few weeks. But hopefully it gets better when we starts to have our real placement from next week onwards. Aerobic class was missed cause Mich, Ashley and I were exhausted.

Speaking of which, we've been allocated to do placements (sort of like visits) to different hospitals and general practice. This is really an eye opening opportunity for pharmacy students like us cause we gets to experience how the other health care practitioner interacts with one another in providing health care service to their people. I've been assigned to QMC, Nottingham Hospital and a family day care practice which I'm really looking forward too! Hopefully everything will goes well and I wont get lost in the mean time searching for the meeting point at those places. =)

It's friday tomorrow and I can see that many of my friends have plan trips to elsewhere. Some are going to London, some are going to Brighton and some to York. The 4 of us decided to stay in this week cause we have an exam coming up next Friday hahaha *memang kiasu betul* Well, the main reason is cause we're trying to saves as much as we can before Boxing day! LOL But on the bright side, we're not that desperate la, cause we're going to Nottingham biggest fair - the Goose Fair tomorrow night!!! Dont ask me why they named it Goose cause it's actually something what we call fun fair in Malaysia. We'll be following the Malaysian Society there cause it's really cheap. Satu pound sahaja for one return trip. I heard from the others that it gonna took us about an hour to reach there. Hmmph not sure if the area is cold or not. Cause I'm still considering what should i wear tomorrow night. The red or the black one? <3

Nottingham

Hey there.. I've left this pity bloggie for a long long time. Life has changed dramatically eversince i left Malaysia. And now, I've fully settled down at Nottingham, UK for another 2 years of my course here. I love the cultural and system here but definitely not the weather when it gets too cold. Anyway, classes are being randomly assigned diff slot at diff time and so I'm really free for today cause its only till 11 today. Just bored and nth much to do here. Updates are always on my facebook and less here. Oh ya.. I'm really excited for my birthday month cause.. We'll be going to LONDON and MANCHESTER! Just a short note before the next update. I've took off the chat box as well cause when things are being left for too long, ppl tend to mess around with it. Cheers~

HOME!

Yeap!!! I'm back home d! Too lazy too busy to blog tho! hahahahah Just a brief summary on what i've been up to.

1. Road trips to Penang and Melaka with my dear! FOODS~~
2. Fly back to Kuching and celebrated grandparents' birthday. I'll definitely miss the weather and the cooling environment.
3. Back to Miri and RESULT is out!!! I've passed and UK Nottingham here i come!
4. Brunei Trip + Movie Marathon. Toy Story 3 is just awesome!! Mr Potatoes with tortilla and cucumber! LOL had a good laugh!

There's more to come in July. Dear is going to take a half month leave from his internship just to travel around. LOL. We'll be going to Singapore to celebrate his mother's birthday first, Hong Kong next and then back to KL to process our visas to UK. So its gonna be a busy busy month! I can hardly wait. XDXD

Gettin' Over You

Eat and Shop

Our exam finished around 4 pm. So after we've collected our microbiology and lab reports, took our class photos, we went back for a rest. It was pouring heavily but nothing will stop us from going out on our free-from-exam day! hehehhe

The plan was to have a nice relaxing dinner, some catching up with one another after so long 'trap' in our cage busy preparing for exam. It was pretty simple and we done some window shopping after that and went home to have a early rest. That was because we have a bigger plan for the next day! =p

So, day 2 was entirely for boutique hopping! hahahahhaa but too bad there were nothing much around so we left Bangsar around 4 something to have an early dinner. We're both feeling hot and tired after walking up and down all staircases. LOL and why do most of boutiques have to be in the 2nd floor ha?? So we had Itallianies for dinner and we over estimated and ordered 2 set course meal and end up super bloated. >Ip Man 2 after that and it was good! There were so many new movies recently and I'm still waiting for 'someone' to finish his exam ASAP to bring me to watch! Especially SHREK!!! hahahah i dont care if it's a kid movie cause i love cartoons! =p

After 2 days of continuous walking, we feel that we should challenge ourselves with Sunway Pyramid. We had our lunch first and took 100+ photos in just one restaurant! girls will always be girls.. VAIN! hahahah but who cares! we walk and walk and walk till we almost got lost and our legs couldn't take it anymore and so we settle down at a Korean restaurant. The waiter there was really nice. We kept on getting refills for our drinks and kimchi! I'm starting to love korean foods! Bibimbap and BBQ chicken with fresh vege are really nice. But the portion was really big for 3 girls alone. Too bad dear wasn't with us, if not it'll be just nice. =) Mich and I wanted to get Tiramisu cake from Starbucks for Ashley to celebrate her birthday but we're so confused with the location of the shop! Turn out there were 2 Starbucks in Sunway, one at the north and the other at south, one at lvl lg1 and the other at lvl g. *gosh* we were basically walking up and down and from one end to another... haahahah but too bad, tiramisu cake are replaced with another new set of cakes. And they wont be selling it anymore. But we bought a small chocolate cupcake for her and sang her birthday song at Mich's place. heheheh

3 days with the girls was fun. It's great to shop and camwhore together. After this, everyone will be going back to their hometown and the next time we meet is the time where we'll be doing our visa for UK!! whheeee!! 3 more days to go before Dear finishes his exam! I can hardly wait! XD

*phew* I've just finished my 2nd last question on CNS. God must be knowing we're suffering from CNS and hence we received a whole set of CNS questions from Dr Ting yesterday! Now we'll have higher chance to pass Phys Pharm. =p The first battle will be on this coming Tuesday where we'll be having our OSCE exam. It is basically an oral exam where we'll have to do presription counselling, OTC request and medication taking history. I've dedicated half day to prepare for that and hopefully it's enough. Mock OSCE really helps us to get a bird-eye view on what is going happen on that day itself. The next day after OSCE is our Phys Pharm exam. I seriously hope Dr. Wiart being the nice guy would really set CSF and SSRIs as our essay questions! >< cause that's what he told us... to read up more on those two. Well, pray that my study schedule works fine this time. =)

Exam Mode

• you must be thinking we're so lucky cause we get to know our questions beforehand.. my say.. only half lucky.. the tough part.. CNS= we knew nothing. *swt*
• Went to watched Iron Man 2 and had Snowflakes at Pavillion last night. It was good! as in the movie and the dessert. =)
• I seriously need to get away from fb now.. but i can't T3T
• After exam would be our shopping spree!!! *day dreaming again*
• Going Hong Kong in 2 months time!! wheee~
• I'm craving for Mcd breakfast right now.. *omg noms ><*

I shall start this post with a photo!!! hahaha After much research, I've managed to find a nice, reasonable restaurant which serves excellent non-halal western food!!! the above dish is pork chop with mash potatoes and it taste real good! looking back at those photo i've took during dear's birthday dinner, it'll definitely make me salivate! Anyway, the plan goes as follow on his birthday eve.

1. Distract him by bringing him to a nice dinner [Checked]
2. Make sure we reached home by 11 [Checked]
3. Make sure everybody else knows what's happening and the clues is in their places [Checked]
4. Blindfold him when the clock struck 11! 

hahahahah it went really well that night! the surprise attacks works, thanks to all my little helpers. He memang kena kao kao la that night. hehehe I'm sure he'll never forget how we've celebrated his 21st birhtday for him. p/s: the cake may look ugly but it taste damn good! recommended! from Alexis!

Anyway, as we have road trip to Melaka on the next day. 3 cars, 12 people and 2 more on their way to meet up with us that night. We reached Melaka bout 11 something and we were damn hungry. Went to eat the famous chicken rice and walk around Melaka town.

 Afer much sweat and walk, we settle down at one of the famous cendol stall.

The cendol and ice kacang here was delicious!! some of the guys said that it was too sweet but the one i ordered was just rite for me. =) the aroma of the gula melaka was really thick *regret didn't buy some back for mummy* We were running late, step into the mall cause of the freakish weather, bought some snacks, beers, soft drinks and drive back to A Famosa Resort to check into our villa. The 2 peeps whom we're supposed to meet has already arrive before us. =p

After refreshing ourselves, we went out for dinner. We were suppose to have Nyonya cuisine but due to some circumstances, we're having pork chops again!! Dear must be super lucky to have pork chops for dinners continuously. After dinner, we walked around at the Jonker Street before we went back to our villa. And here comes the drinking session!

This is just part of it. The boys went crazy and played till around 5 something in the morning! *gosh* After merely 5 hours sleep, we're up again to get ready for waterpark. hahahahah. water park in A Famosa could be real bored if you're coming here alone. After water park, we stopped by Seremban for siew pao and dinner. Seremban is really famous for it's siew pau, especially those freashly baked from the oven. That conclude the birthday weekend for dear! Really glad that we all had fun and now, we're anxiously waiting for the next trip... which is Penangg!

Begins Now, Ends Now

Gosh, it have been so so long since the last post. 2nd sem is halfway through and there's been lots of happenings around. But i've been really lazy to update my blog. It's more worthy to upload those photos into fb instead. *wink* anyway, Prom is over and now we left with revisions to do, dissertation and lab reports to finish up with. Hopefully I'll have enough time to catch up with everything before the BIG exam this coming May. And soon, I'll be on my way to the UK campus! Provided that I've passed *keeping my fingers crossed* Anyway it's the big boy big BIG day this coming weekend and we're going to Melaka to celebrate it with his group of friends! We got some really cheap deal and rent a villa with pool during the Matta Fair. He've been guessing around bout the plans but only-god-knows that he barely knew 30% of the whole thing. haha. Speaking of which, Dear and I are going to Hong Kong baby this July!! hahahaha Disneyland Disneyland here i come! It's gonna be a 5D 4N trip and it's gonna be hot! but who cares, we got cheap deals during Matta Fair. =))) I guess i've been travelling a lot in 2nd year. Sept 09-Singapore , Nov 09-Ipoh, Dec 09-Langkawi-Cameron-Genting, Feb 10-Miri, March 10-Melaka and decisions have not been made yet on where to go after exams! heheheh Penang Food is still waiting for me to taste them but Nyonya cuisine and Durian Cendol will do for now. *sigh* Gotta get back to my dissertation now. Study hard now, play even harder later!!! *anxiously waiting for Friday*
