IPOH Road Trip

As usual, we are so unpredictable. Having the weekend off, Michie pop out the question out of sudden whether we would like to follow her back to her hometown IPOH!!!! hahaahahhahaha.. and of course we agreed without a second thought!! But evonne couldn't make it at last minute *=[*, so left dear and i... and off we go to Ipoh after his last class.

Based on Dear's GPS and our 'good' sense of direction, we managed to surpass KL roads and got into the highway to Ipoh. *wheeee* everyone's getting excited that day, cause dear wanna eat dim sum & IPOH is super famous for it's dim sum, michie gets to go back home and me... i get to try out my baby!!! XDXD

After 2 and 1/2 hours on the road, we finally reached Ipoh!!! and the view is spectacular!! It feels peaceful and the air is so fresh with all the mountains surrounding the town. *awww* Well, we sorta promised ourselves that we must try as much as we can the famous food in Ipoh and thanks to our tour guide aka driver aka host, we've managed to cover almost everything!!! hahahaha

We went to get some light snacks before we went back to michie's house and refreshed ourselves. Dinner was at Wong Kee Restaurant and the Fish soup there is a must to order when you're here!!!! The soup is flavourful with just the right amount of wine and fish meat itself is soft. Describing the taste of it makes me salivating now.. LOL Thanks to Michie parents for the dinner that night. We went back after that with our full belly and decided to put our 'food itinerary' to a pause that night..hahaha (actually still wanna go out for char kueh tiaw and tau fu fa =p)

Day 2

We woke up early the next day for our DIM SUM!!!!! hahahahahaha to eat dim sum in Ipoh, you'll have to be one of the early bird. Like the chinese saying, early birds got worms to eat ma.. hahahaha The new Foh San, which famous among the locals and non-locals, has just undergo renovation and has really nice interior. According to Michie, the old one is less spacious and seats are limited.

This is only PART of our order that morning!!! hahahahah we quickly grab the HAR GAO and luckily we did!! cause when the guy sat beside us ask for it, the waiter told them that they'll have to wait for the next round!!! hahahahaha *evil laugh* Dim sum in Ipoh is really worth it!!! big prawn in the har gao, thin skin with lots of filling Hong Kong chee cheung fun and lots lots more. You gotta experience this yourself and i bet you'll love it like us!! No wonder la Ipoh people are so proud of their dim sums!! heheheh

After dim sum, what to do?? We are gonna burn all our calories which we consumed during breakfast!!! hahahahaha Michie brought us to visits some of the parks and caves around Ipoh. She also brought us to her secondary school which is many many times more beautiful than St Joe lor.. hahahaha what to do.. i love the english design of the school compound. They even had a pool le!! just that we cannot go in that day cause it was locked. =[ So after alll those walking, climbing up stairs and ss-ing.. tummies are hungry again d! hahahaha our tour guide recommend us to try their famous asam laksa at the hawker stall just under a big big tree!

The place is also famous for it's red bean drinks and fried carrot cake. The red bean drinks was so-so for me but the fried carrot cake was really nice!!! Especially when it's not that oily and the addition of Ipoh bean sprouts really deserves a thumb up from me. =) As for the popiah, i just find it taste ok.. or maybe it's because that i'm still full from the dim sum that we had that morning. XP We went to Jusco after that, walked around and had our dinner at home. Michie's mum cooked something light for us but dear and i love it. hhehehehe

Day 3
Our mission for the last day is to try the Fish Head Bihun and the famous Ipoh Ngar Choi Gai (Beansprout with Chicken)!!! (just realised fish head bihun photo is not in XP) hahahaha and of course with the amount of foods we consumed, it had be well balanced with the amount of walkings to be done. We were brought to the beautiful Perak Cave where we can view the whole Ipoh from the top.

Food photos are all compiled together cause i'm just too lazy to upload them one by one. hehehe there's popiah again but this time better taste, sweet chee cheung fun, pumpkin dessert, delicious + nice smell egg tarts & the famous Ngar Choi Gai!! Look closer at the bean sprout.. it is short and fat d!!! very crunchy and refreshing when you eat it with the noodles. Oh, and the soup for the noodles is rich with prawn flavour.. (really OMG! i'm gonna go back and have a big bowl of this the next time i'm there!!!)

Overall, we had fun trying new foods in Ipoh. Thanks to Michie and her family for accomodate us for that 3 days 2 nights. One target is strike off the food list and where's next????? Give you one clue... this place is famous for it's char kueh tiaw... hehehehehhehe

PENANG HERE WE COME!!!!
*after exam la.. hehehehehe*

Week 5 already la!!!

I'm the kind of person who used to think time doesn't really flies. BUT, now i do. Being a uni student, life is always full of classes to attend and courseworks/assignements/lab reports to be done. And the left over time? Sleep? Eat? Shop? Boy, i sound like i have no life here. hehe. Actually i do. It's all about balancing your time ma. That's what uni is all about. You study most of the time but you MUST dig out some time to enjoy too! LOL

  • We respond to the feedback session on each module and now, our lectures would try to make each lectures more 'fun'. Fluorescence and spectroscopy might be a boring and challenging topic but when Prof. Doughty explained it to us, we were amazed. Why? Scroll down and have a look.

That's him. our Dean, preparing mxture for the demo. And the second pict shows that different solution would have different colours under the U.V light due to the different wavelength which each of them emitted. The colours are amazing right.

  • Study, study, study from 9 till evening. So the only break time we got is during our lunch time. So what if there's an extra hour from the lunch break... buat apa lagi? Go out makan la!!! hahahhaa cafeteria does offer a variety of food from the east to the west but... our picky mouths would chose to go out whenever we have the chance. *wink*

At pan mee stall, all eager to make their order (=.-)

That's sue swen car and tien li's finger pointing at it, taken on our way back from sushi king to rush for our workshop. hehe We're lucky that we're not late that afternoon. LOL

This was taken recently. We have another 2 hours break for our lunch. The initial plan was to go for tom yam but it was closed. So we switched to a chinese restaurant near our campus. Guess how many tables we conquered that day???? 4!! 4 x 10 each table = around 40 pharmacist were there! We even joke that we're more like attending one of our coursemates wedding dinner instead of stopping by for lunch*grin*

  • I usually woke up around 7.15 in the morning, laze around, shower and make breakfast before it's time to go to campus. So what if i'm running late? heheheheh pergi campus makan lo.

Yummy breakfast from the western corner of our cafeteria.
  • The condition of our classroom are weird all the times. It always will be really cold for the first few hours. And everyone would start wearing their cardigans or jackets. Then.... when the temperature has been adjusted, it would be very warm that everyone would starts to remove their cardigans/jackets and start fanning. LOL

No idea who took this pict, was it Michelle or Evonne??
On the other note, we received another new toy from our lecturer again!!! This time it's a patient trainer whistle. It is actually for us to teach our patient on how to use the inhaler. As the name suggest, the whistle will be sound if the patient took a strong long breath. This would ensure that the medicine has really been delivered and not wasted during the inhalation.

Our fake inhalers with the respond card which we all love very much. Glad that the other uni have their chance to try on our respond card too during the Inter-uni event. =) So before i end this post, here's something to share with you all. It's part of the question that were asked for our Code Of Conduct's lesson.

So, which would you choose?? hahahhaah We really had a good laugh when we answer these question with our respond card and the look of the results after them. That's all from me now. Must make good use of my free Thursday as well to do some revision. Gonna go out on the weekend to get presents for the girls(there's 3 of them k!!!). There goes my 'budget period plan'. What i'm gonna buy for them?? Wait till i sudah beli and bagi mereka then i post it here. *wink* ;]

So, what do you think?

As you all have noticed, I've changed my blog layout. It's no longer dull grey like it used to be. I spend the whole afternoon yesterday just to pick and adjust the settings. Thank god it's done now. *relieved*. Classes are not that packed this week and so i get 1&1/2 day off. Off to get my laundry done now. Will update again later. *wink*

My NEW Baby + Random Updates

Ever since my first baby was being kidnapped, I've been wanting to get myself a new one. After being in dilemma for quite some time... on whether i should choose this
Lumix FZ-35/38
or something more compact with wide angle.. but less zoom like this
Lumix LX3
or G10... with the image quality that i really loves ><
Dear have finally had enough of me.. so... On last Friday, we drove all the way to Lowyat.. thanks to our live GPS and our EMO GPS, cause we had no sense of direction on where we should be heading. 2 Sarawakians and 1 Ipohian, what do you expect? LOL But luckily we managed to go and return in one piece After much surveying done at Low Yat Plaza... and guess what? I've chosen to buy this instead

Canon G11!!!!
It was really an unexpected decision! When we first try out the functions, i've already officially fallen in love with it.
So now, with my new baby.. I'M SO GOING to pollute my blog with super lots picture hiak hiak hiak *evil grin*

Jesselton, here i come!

Went to KK with the family for almost a week. Dear joined us on the 3rd day. It was basically a relaxing trip to relieved all the stress and of course the day trip to the island was the main concern!!!!
dad and mum during check-in for our 1st hotel at One Borneo
We went to Giant after that, and bought lots and lots of cup noodles for our supper!!! hahaha but we didn't get to finish everything by the time we went back.
Breakfast buffet was on the rooftop of the hotel and the view was really nice.
I stumble upon Mr. Mickey there and quickly snapped a pict of him. The sales girls there were so bitchy. They eyed you and would give you the look as if you're gonna steal anything from there. *sigh* no wonder the whole shop was empty for most of the time.
We practically do nothing much at One Borneo, just sleep, eat and shopped around.
Our 2nd hotel room, with a much spacious room.
Showed dear around and brought him to the Phillipine's Night Market.
Lots of fresh seafood, vege and fruits there. There are even food stalls selling freshly barbequed seafood (and the squid was huge!).
We choose Manukan Island as our destination as there were more water sport that can be done there.
We dropped some of the passengers to Sapi Island. So practically we've visited Sapi Island! LOL and we pick up some passengers from Mamutik Island on our way back, so yea.. we visited that island as well *wink*
We went for snorkeling in the morning while waiting for our turn for Parasailing and Fly-Fish. Dad and Sam went first and Sam was shiverring from cold when they rear in the line. LOL
Dear, Stanley and I went next.
Dad, Sam, Dear and I went for fly fish as well. It was really extreme!!! You guys should try at least once! Dear and Sam even went twice which is even more extreme... cause that fishy thingy is lighter.. so it can really 'fly' higher.
We didn't miss out the fresh seafood as well! We went to this hawker center at SEDCO complex and had a really filling meal there. Not to mentioned it's reasonably priced and suits our preference.
Dear and I went for some light supper on the night before we left. This was actually frozen yogurt with fresh fruits from Yogurberry. Their strawberry was finished by the time we went, so I ordered mango, peach, kiwi and dragonfruit instead. =)
We have to woke up early the next morning to catch our flight back to Miri and Dear board another plane to KL to meet up with his family there.
